The CD begins with over twenty minutes of music from the
1903 Broadway hit THE WIZARD OF OZ composed by Paul Tietjens.
Also represented are the wonderful scores to THE WOGGLE-BUG
with music by Frederic Chapin (a musical comedy based on L.
Frank Baum's THE LAND OF OZ), the 1913 Louis F. Gottschalk musical
THE TIK-TOK MAN OF OZ, and Gottschalk's 1914 film score to
THE PATCHWORK GIRL OF OZ. The CD also contains music to seven
songs composed by L. Frank Baum himself! All told the CD presents
a vivid introduction to the early Broadway hit that catapulted Oz
into the American consciousness.
