Lyrics
Sung by Polly Premier and Jimmy Gingerbread
There's a new house I know,
On a nice quiet street,
Just for newly-wed couples that's all.
Mister Cupid the landlord
Keeps everything neat,
And the place is called
Honeymoon Hall.
Now I hear an apartment
Is vacant today,
On the sunnyside
O, such a view!
So if you will marry me,
Love, right away,
You and I will move into "Suite Two!"
Honeymoon, Honeymoon Hall!
O, the rent there is nothing at all.
'Tis in Bill and Coo street,
All the rooms are "en-suite,"
And upon you no creditors call.
Down in Honeymoon, Honeymoon Hall!
It is crowded in springtime and fall,
And the band plays the wedding march
Down in Honeymoon, Honeymoon Hall.
There's a big floral
Wedding bell over the door,
When you call you give one wedding ring;
There are love-birds
In cages on every floor,
And the sweetest of love-songs they sing.
O with true lovers knots
All the curtains are tied,
And fresh kisses are
Served morn and night.
And when the sun sets
And it's evening outside,
The gas with a love-match you light!
Honeymoon, Honeymoon Hall!
O, the rent there is nothing at all.
Etc.

Honeymoon Hall
From the 1905 Broadway Musical
The Pearl and the Pumpkin
Music by John W. Bratton
Words by Paul West
In 1905, two years after the smashing success of the 1903 Wizard of Oz musical, both L. Frank Baum and W. W. Denslow tried to strike gold a second time.
Baum wrote The Woggle-Bug which flopped. But Denslow, illustrator of the original Wizard of Oz, had much better luck with his new show, The Pearl and the Pumpkin, based on Denslow's and West's children's book of the same name.
This song was sung by Polly Premier and Jimmy Gingerbread and is a charming and pun-filled love fest.
