This is a delightful piece of instru- mental music from the 1905 musical extravaganza The Pearl and the Pumpkin based on Paul West's and W. W. Denslow's children's book of the same name. It was performed in Act II and was followed by the song, The Submarine Fire Brigade sung by Mother Carey and Chorus. No script from the show is known to survive and little is known about how the underwater fire department fit into the show.
